I'm Jamey Montes, a self taught, new jersey born mixed media contemporary artist creating bold and satirical conversation pieces that are one-off, original, and large scale.  I combine vintage materials, religious iconography, humor and the unexpected to question the stories, symbols, and beliefs we were taught to accept with out question.

My core values refuse to present a polished version of reality, instead it allows the viewers to accept the messy parts of being human and rewrite their stories that they were once defined by.  It reminds the viewer that the things that once made them feel uncomfortable and misunderstood are often the very things that connect us and make us badass and cool; scars and all.
